Polyester filament nonwoven geotextile
Tuowang polyester filament geotextile is a geosynthetic material widely used in geotechnical and civil engineering. It is manufactured by forming a web of polyester filaments and consolidating it through needle-punching, resulting in a three-dimensional fiber structure. In addition to excellent mechanical properties, it exhibits superior longitudinal and transverse drainage performance, good elongation, and high chemical stability against biological degradation, acids, alkalis, and aging. Furthermore, it features a broad pore-size distribution, tortuous pore channels, and outstanding permeability and filtration characteristics.

1. Separation function: Because geotextiles have a well-defined effective pore size, when used as an interlayer between two materials with significantly different properties—such as coarse and fine aggregates—they can effectively prevent the mixing of these two distinct material types.
2. Filter‑retention function: When a fluid in the soil flows through a geotextile, the phenomenon whereby the fluid passes through smoothly while soil particles are retained is referred to as filter‑retention. Filter‑retention involves the fluid penetrating the fabric rather than flowing along its surface.
3. Reinforcement Function: Although soil exhibits good compressive strength, its shear strength is relatively low. Geotextiles leverage their high frictional interaction with the soil to restrain lateral deformation, thereby enhancing the overall stability of the soil mass.
4. Protective Function: Due to its inherent flexibility, geotextile can serve as a protective layer, also referred to as a cushioning layer. For example, geotextile can be laid over geomembranes to prevent the geomembrane from being punctured by sharp stones.
5. Fluid‑transport function: This refers to the ability of geotextiles to drain fluids or convey gases in the plane of the fabric. The numerous three-dimensional pores within needle‑punched geotextiles enhance their capacity to transport fluids laterally. This is a distinctive characteristic of needle‑punched fabrics.
